Local media today reported President's Press Secretary Mohamed Zuhair's niece is to be appointed as Tourism Minister of Maldives.
"Zuhair's family is experienced in tourism. His brother-in-law Sim Ibrahim Mohamed has been managing Maldives Association of Tourism Industry for more than a decade. Zuhair's sister Dr Mariyam Zulfa was once the editor of the travel publication Explore Maldives," said Cabinet Secretary Kosheege Abdulla Saeed who is also known as Captain Abdulla Saeed.
To overcome the challenges the tourism industry is experiencing in the wake of the fake wedding at Vilu Reef Resort, the President has decided to appoint a competent Tourism Minister. Zuhair's niece will be the youngest member of the Cabinet.

it will be better if Mariya's niece is appointed as tourism minister. mariya's ex-husband has experience in tourism too. he ran a resort. or even better if the government merges MATI and tourism ministry.
Why not appoint Reeko Moosa's niece as tourism minister? Reeko Moosa used to run a fake resort with Adam Zahir and Universal Ahmed Manik and called it Dhonimigili. Reeko Moosa is Universal and Universal is MATI.
seems like the only qualification needed to be the tourism minister is to be someone's niece ... :)
how about appointing president nasheed's niece? his family is more experienced in tourism. they owned boduhithi and kudahithi back in the Safari Tours days.
My humble suggestion is to appoint Kosheege Saeed's niece. After all, Saeed's experience in tourism by writing and publishing traditional Maldivian stories in English language for tourists in the 'Finihiya' magazine cannot be matched by others.
seems like this govt has appointed more family members and friends to political positions than the last one.hypocrites.
