Dr Zakir Naik's son operates successfully at IGMH

Fariq Naik, the 11-year-old son of the famous Indian doctor Zakir Naik, has operated successfully on a 4-year-old kid at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Male. Fariq Naik, who has replaced Dr Abdulla Niyaf at IGMH, is currently consulting kids with various ailments.

Dr Zakir Naik himself is consulting patients with asthma, blurred vision and migraine. Dr Naik's wife is consulting female patients seeking the advice of gynecologists. Within two days Dr Naik's wife has become more popular than established gynecologists such as Dr Yaganegi and Dr Aseel Jaleel.

"This shows the agreement Maldives government signed with Apollo Hospitals Group is bearing fruits. This is why we wanted to conceal parts of the agreement from the public and the media. We wanted the positive outcomes at IGMH to come as lovely surprises for the public," said Mohamed Zuhair, the President's Press Secretary.

The government recently signed a management contract with the Apollo Hospitals of India under which the largest hospital in the Maldives will be run by the Indian firm.

"Indo-Maldives relations is at an unprecedented peak with the arrival of Dr Naik to IGMH. This will be further strengthened when the government of Maldives invites Shah Rukh Khan to perform in the Maldives," said Foreign Minister Dr Ahmed Shaheed.
