MDP promises lolly for all families once a month

The MDP government has promised lolly for all families in Maldives. The families can have lolly once a month. During presidential campaign current President Nasheed promised ice-cream for families once a month.

"The offer of ice-cream had to be toned down because of the global recession and our own economic troubles. All families can now enjoy lolly once a month. The brighter side of it is the lolly will come in three flavours: vanilla, strawberry and coconut," said Ibrahim Rasheed, the policy secretary at President's Office.

"We decided to offer lolly to all families after Lolly Jabir joined MDP. Now we will have no shortage of lollies," said Mohamed Zuhair, the President's press secretary.

"If we face a shortage of lolly, Dhiyana will ship a container from Kathmandu," said Abdulla Saeed, the cabinet secretary.

"We don't have any experience of running a government but Lolly Jabir has enough experience of selling lollies," said Ahmed Mausoom, the finance secretary at President's Office.

Former member of parliament and former deputy leader of the great Jumhooree Party, Abdulla Jabir recently joined the MDP. His wife Dhiyana Saeed, the former Attorney General, has been appointed as Secretary General for South Asian Association for Regional Consolation (SAARC). She will begin a three-year term serving the SAARC Secretariat based in Kathmandu, Nepal.
